OESP (Ontario Electricity Support Program)

The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) provides monthly on-bill credits for lower-income customers to reduce their electricity bills. 

Through the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), you may be eligible to receive credit of up to $900 dollars a year on your electricity bill.

  • A Monthly on-bill credit of between $35 and $75 is available to households earning less than $71,000 a year (after tax) 
  • If your home is electrically heated, or you rely on certain medical devices requiring a lot of power, the OESP offers a higher level of assistance. 

Eligibility is based on the combination household income and how many people live in your house. 

Who is eligible?

The OESP is open to residential customers only and customers must apply to the program.

Low-income Energy Assistance Program Emergency Financial Assistance (LEAP EFA)

  • Provided emergency relief to eligible low-income customers facing disconnection due to unpaid bills.
  • Intended to be applied only to outstanding electricity bills. It is not intended to provide regular or ongoing bill payment assistance. 
  • Electricity customers of Tillsonburg Hydro, as well as those of unit sub-meter providers (USMPs) are eligible for LEAP EFA. 
  • The program funding provided by Tillsonburg Hydro.
